  • Albanian Investment Corporate – Durana Techpark Panel

The Albanian Investment Corporation (AIC) focuses on initiatives to boost the startup ecosystem in Albania. They organized a panel on the second day of the Tirana International Fair, with a strong focus on modern technological developments. This initiative aims to establish a dynamic virtual ecosystem connecting Tirana and Durrës, fostering collaboration and innovation among local and international companies.

Elira Kokona, Director of the Albanian Investment Corporation, presented the vision for Durana Tech Park, emphasizing its potential to attract investments and create partnerships with companies in the region and beyond. “We built the initial idea of Durana to be a technology-driven business ecosystem that fosters collaboration with other companies in the region, bringing an innovative model based on best-in-class technologies,” Kokona remarked. She highlighted the importance of government and ministerial support to further the project’s goals and overcome challenges, such as attracting more domestic and foreign companies to join the ecosystem.

During the conference at the Tirana International Fair, Edlira Martiri, co-founder of Cyber Morfosis praised the vision of the Durana Tech Park project but highlighted the need for a more dynamic ecosystem driven by innovative ideas and entrepreneurial energy. “I’m very enthusiastic about Durana, but in my view, there is something missing. We need more people with ideas and startups. This is the only way we can succeed—to have people knocking on our door so we can thrive,” Martiri stated.

She also underscored the significance of fostering creativity and innovation, particularly among women and girls in the tech sector. “When it comes to women in this field, I can say that gender does not matter. What matters is having ideas and vision,” Martiri added, highlighting the immense creative potential women and girls bring to technological advancements. Her remarks underscored the importance of building an inclusive and vibrant community at Durana Tech Park, one that encourages collaboration, supports startups, and drives technological innovation for the region’s future.
